| | Counselor ResourcesThe Oklahoma Marriage Initiative (OMI) provides great counselor resources for licensed counselors in the State of Oklahoma. The Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP®) is the exclusive counselor resource curriculum used by the OMI. PREP® is a research- and skills-based counselor resource that is a wonderful supplement to other counselor resources. OMI workshop leaders are provided training in the PREP® counselor resource curriculum free of charge. In exchange for the free training, leaders agree to deliver community-based workshops that are also free of charge to participating couples or individuals. This provides another counselor resource to couples throughout the state who might not otherwise be able to afford other counselor resources.
PREP is an excellent tool that also has been included in OMI's "Forever. For Real." events throughout Oklahoma. When licensed counselors participate in a "Forever. For Real." workshop, they help provide the skills needed to couples for maintaining healthy relationships.
As a licensed counselor, you can also obtain up to 18 hours of Continuing Education Units toward your license by completing the PREP® counselor resource training. Once trained as a PREP® workshop leader, you will receive ongoing support services and other counselor resources from the OMI staff.
As a counselor, many people will come to you seeking counselor resources in all areas of life. The PREP® counselor resources that we provide will be great assets to you and your practice. Many of our counselors will deliver a PREP® workshop and make self-referrals to those participants who desire that type of resource. Also See: Counselor Education
