Divorce Rates: Statistics

Divorce rates in Oklahoma is a growing concern for everyone. For good reason too, Oklahoma has one of the highest divorce rates in the country.
“What is the current divorce rate in Oklahoma?” The truth is that there is not an easy or simple answer.

Gathering information and finding solid divorce rates or divorce rate statistics for any given state or county can be very difficult for the following reasons:

• Divorce rate statistics do not have a specific method of data collection in most states.
• Divorce rates or divorce rate statistics are not required to be collected by Oklahoma counties.

However, the Oklahoma Marriage Initiative (OMI) is striving for stronger, healthier families in Oklahoma. The OMI provides free relationship education services to couples and individuals across the state. These services are provided in an effort to eventually reduce divorce rates in Oklahoma.
