| | Faith Based Marriage Initiatives  As the first comprehensive state marriage initiative with both a secular and faith based initiative track, Oklahoma is a pioneer among state marriage initiatives. Now, many other states are developing their own marriage initiatives and regularly seek information about our experiences implementing state marriage initiatives.
The OMI has developed partnerships with faith-based organizations throughout the state. Religious institutions play a vital role in marriages as over 75% of first marriages take place in a faith setting. Additionally, most Oklahoma couples indicate that, if their relationship were in trouble, they would seek help from the church. The OMI aims to provide Oklahoma faith leaders with access to resources to help them build upon current services for families.
