Getting Married in Oklahoma?
If you’ve been thinking about marriage, you’ve probably been thinking about more than just picking a church and the perfect floral arrangements. You’ve considered the amount of commitment and sacrifice a good marriage takes. Oklahoma Marriage Initiative (OMI) wants to help you and your spouse get the most out of your marriage. OMI has created several helpful programs to prepare couples for the challenges of Marriage.
PREP Workshops
PREP – the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program is designed to enrich marital or future marital relationships in a group setting. PREP workshops are free to anyone who wishes to attend.
Within the workshop each couple is guided through the course by one of 2,600 professionals trained in Oklahoma to deliver marriage education workshops throughout the state.
The workshop will help you learn skills to strengthen your relationship, and demonstrates how to maintain a healthy relationship for a lifetime.
"All About Us" Statewide Tour
"All About Us" is the OMI’s series of one-day community events. This tour typically visits 10+ communities around the state, with workshops both open to the public and focused on the needs of sub-groups (engaged couples, stepfamilies, Spanish speaking couples, etc..
As an incentive all couples who attend either a PREP workshop or an “All About Us” day will be eligible for a marriage license fee of only five dollars, verses the regular fifty dollar fee.
